Senior women to take on CFU Challenge Series

Senior women in training

The Women's national team are set to be in action this week as they have two games in the Caribbean Football Union Women's Challenge Series. Drawn in Group B of the competition last month, the local ladies will be going up against Cuba and hosts Jamaica tomorrow and Friday.

With the serving as a warm-up series ahead of the 2018 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers to be held next month, our senior women's team are currently in the ground training in Jamaica and will be playing only two of the three originally-scheduled games. Initially slated to play against the Turks and Caicos Islands on Sunday at the University of the West Indies JFF Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence, our neighbours have pulled out of the series, leaving all Group B teams to play just two games.

The current squad has been in training since their last outing in Martinique in January and some minor changes have been made as names such as Giselle Fields, Jeneva Miller and Soraya Toppin-Herbert have returned to the fold to render their services.

Tomorrow's game will see the ladies going up against the Cubans at 4:30 PM local time.
