Two young Barbadian footballers will be getting the chance of a lifetime when they meet up with other players from all over the globe in Russia for the 2018 Gazprom Football for Friendship (F4F) programme. Kamaal Bryan from the Pinelands Youth Academy and Sachin Clarke of the National Sports Council team will be joining young persons from 210 other countries this coming week as they are taken through training sessions and workshops with some of the world's best young coaches and famous players.
With the event serving as the main programme of the International Children's Social, Clarke and Bryan, accompanied by Barbados Football Association officials Renaldo Gilkes and Soraya Toppin-Herbert, will be in Russia from June 8thto 15. According to the event website, “The goal of the programme is to involve the young generation throughout the world in promoting the most important human values among their peers – friendship, equality, peace and respect for different cultures and nationalities.” and with this in mind, the pair are expected to to take up the mantle of youth ambassadors for peace and friendship wherever they may go.
After the 2017 edition was held surrounding the finals of the Confederation Cup in Russia, this year's programme will see the future hopefuls attending training camps, children's forums and workshops before taking in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 and the first game of the tournament.
