Bajan girls hit FIFA rankings

Category: | 0 Replies

After only coming on to the international scene last year, Barbados national women's team have blasted their way into the world rankings at 115. With the women's programme moving into high gear around April of 2017 and the local ladies picking their first senior international cap in September against Turks and Caicos Islands, they have hopped, skipped and jumped past several nations with the bottom of the barrel being 177.

BFA Technical Director Ahmed Mohamed said that he was pleased with the ranking although it would have been higher if their matchups were classed as Tier-1. He went on to say that the ranking was a testament to the hard work put in and the potential that the national programmes had.
