An already bright future just got even brighter for one of the island's greatest prospects as Thierry Gale has official secured a professional contract. The 16 year-old, who represents both the Under-17 and Senior National teams has been offered a contract after going on a short trial at Budapest Honvéd FC in Hungary's top league.
After impressing coaches along with his teammate and Senior National team captain Rashad Jules, Gale's run at the club back in August saw them wanting his talents for their youth academy and as such, has been signed for by his parents – his father being Dwayne Gale, a once-famous local striker.
Young Gale has been proving his worth in recent years, doing well at his club Pro Shottas and at St. Leonard's Boys School having won several championships through the age-groups in Barbados Football Association and Barbados Secondary Schools Football League tournaments. Still a minor, his academic development is set to be continued by the academy while he is under their care in Hungary.
