Young Tridents tutor Puerto Rico

Category: | 0 Replies

The national Under-15 team got their 2019 campaign off to a solid start today as they handed down a 3-0 result to a visiting Puerto Rico Under-14 side. Set to head off to Florida in August for the Concacaf Under-15 championship, the Young Tridents got their year going with a good win.

The visitors, who are traveling through the region on the Carnival Fascination, have games set up on all their stops and would have taken on St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands on Monday. With the Bajan lads providing them with their second challenge, the Puerto Ricans got in some much-needed experience as despite the loss.

Aaron Cumberbatch got the ball rolling in the 7th minute for Barbados. Before Puerto Rico had a chance to settle and regroup, their nets were rocking once again as Nadre Butcher put the ball over the line in the 8th. Butcher would prove the most dangerous on the day as he picked up a second goal in the 63rd to seal the deal.

From Barbados, the visitors have games in St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Maarten.
