BDFSP and Wales play to a goalless draw

Category: | 0 Replies

Zone Leaders Weymouth Wales and BDFSP played to a goalless draw on Sunday night when the final round of the BFA Premier Leagues came off at the Wildey Turf. The much-anticipated hype between these two teams never materialized.

Having won their respective zones this game served as a preview to what the finals would be for the Premier League Championship in a week’s time but neither team were able to breakdown the other defense to register a goal.

The Premier League champions will be decided in a two best of three play-offs between these two teams with the winner copping the $20,000 first prize.

Empire will fancy their chances for third place when they come up against UWI Blackbirds. They lead their zone for most of the tournament only to be over-taken by the BDFSP who picked up some good form in the second round. Early contender Paradise slipped down the pecking order and are out of the play-offs. Notre Dame managed to find some form in the second round after dangling within the relegation play-off zone for quite some time.

Soccer Academy finished last in Zone 1 below Porey Spring in 5th place. In Zone 2 Youth Milan brings up the rear with St. Andrew Lions in 5th place.

Soccer Academy will play St. Andrew Lions while Youth Milan will play Porey Spring to avoid relegation. The losers of these two matches will be relegated. The winners will play each other, and the loser of that match will also be relegated.
