Stag Beer is the new sponsor coming on board for this year's Champions Cup staged by the Barbados Football Association.
The disclosure was made earlier today when the launch was held at the offices of the Association in Wildey.
Stag's new Brand Manager Troy Clarke said the agents Brydens Stoke are elated to partner with the BFA because of the reach football has."We were happy to get a call from the Association to partner with them for this year. As you know football is a very popular sport in the community and we are looking forward to be part of that, and we expect this to be a very strong partnership with the BFA. "
BFA General Secretary Edwyn Wood was also happy about the new sponsorship."It's great to have Stag on board and we hope to build a strong relationship. As you know, the knockout competition is what the players look forward to most as the lower teams get a chance to have a go at the premier league sides. There's always plenty of excitement. "
There are over 60 teams competing in the competition with new ones like Martindale's Road, Emmerton, Route 16 and St.Helen's FC.
The action kicks off on March 6. Some of the intriguing matchups include St.Helen's vs Police, Blackspurs vs Carlton in a Black Rock derby and Soccer Academy vs Route 16.
