Bien Amine urges LYG participants never to give up on dreams

Category: | 0 Replies

FIFA, CONCACAF and CFU Executive Board member Sonia Bien Amine has urged the participants of the recently concluded Live Your Goals Festival to never give up on your dreams. She was addressing the group of young girls who took part in the festival organized by the Barbados Football Association preceding the second international match against Turk & Caicos Islands on Sunday at the Wildey Turf.

Ms Bien Amine used her personal experience as a footballer and now as a FIFA administrator to push her message saying, “You may not succeed as a footballer but you can someday become a good referee or a coach or and administrator at the highest level of football.”

The FIFA Administrator urged the girls to spread the word about the Live Your Goals project to get more girls involved in the male dominated sport of football. She outlined some of the benefits of playing football which included furthering their education and becoming “well rounded” individuals.

The BFA Live Your Goals Festival is in its second year at the BFA and is a programme designed by FIFA to encourage more female participation in the football at all levels. The two hour festival not only exposed participants from as young as 3 years old to 16 years to the technical side of football but included a fun side.

Several other festivals are planned for the year.
