MAVERICKS led a goal rush in the Barbados Football Association’s Women’s League on Sunday as 21 goals were scored in the triple-header at the Wildey AstroTurf.
National striker Felicia Jarvis led the way with a beaver trick as Mavericks blanked newcomers Crane & Equipment 12-0 to chalk up their third victory in as many matches.
Cheyanna Burnett supported Jarvis with a hat-trick, while there were braces for Moesha Goodman and Kerisha Catlyn. Jarvis was on target in the 26th, 27th, 60th and 80th minutes, while Burnett found the nets in the seventh, 32nd and 49th minutes. Goodman’s goals came in the 25th and 43rd minutes with Shaunte Carrington also scoring in the 77th minute.
In the other matches, defending champions, National Sports Council (NSC) thrashed Kick Start Genesis 5-0 to join Mavericks on maximum nine points from three wins, while UWI Blackbirds whipped Technique 4-0. Shonte Padmore had a double strike in the 61st and 90th minutes after the NSC girls led 3-0 at half-time. Kamillah Burke had opened the scoring in the first minute while Jalisa Callender and Kimberly Ellis netted in the 36th and 45th minutes.
The Blackbirds’ goal feast was led by Ashanee Thompson, who scored in the 12th and 41st minutes while Rianna Cyrus had a second half brace in the 58th and 77th minutes. (EZS)
